My iPhone 5 (iOS 9) has just started to show 9,217 emails unread.

Everything was normal yesterday morning. I have 2 POP3 email accounts defined, and a total of three read messages in my Inbox. Any idea how to clear the badge notification? I tried turning off the two accounts and back on, but it is still the same.
